Ladies of Harmony

"Above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God" (New International Version, 1978/2011, 1 Peter 4:8-10).

Overview: The ladies of Harmony strive to be the heart and hands of Christ so that He would be glorified in all they do. Their mission is to serve the church family and community by using their God-given gifts and talents to serve as if they were serving Christ Himself. There are lots of ways you can join this ministry! Prayerfully consider serving on one of the following committees:

Psalms 84:1 “How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord.”

Help make sure the church is beautiful in appearance by keeping an eye out for things that should be repaired, decorated, and/or updated. 

  • Plant flowers
  • Display seasonal flowers and gifting them to individuals (birthdays, anniversaries, or sick and shut in) following service
  • Decorate the sanctuary, vestibule, and grounds
  • Make note of items that need repairing

Cares

 

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”

Help care for the body of Christ by providing meals and support during times of recovery, celebration, and bereavement. 

  • Provide a meal for the family after the loss of a loved one
  • Create a meal train for regular attendees after surgery, extended illness, or new baby
  • Visit local nursing homes to bless and comfort others

Fellowship

 

1 Corinthians 14:40 “Let all things be done decently and in order”.

Helps keep order and organize the Fellowship Hall. 

  • Make sure pantry is stocked with necessary items. 
  • Restock items
  • Refrigerator management
  • Wednesday night meal coverage
  • Decorating the Fellowship Hall

Celebration

 

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”.

To congratulate, shower with gifts, and show love to our church family as they celebrate the joys of marriage and parenthood. 

Welcoming

 

Romans 15:5-7 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”

Welcome new visitors/attendees so they feel the love of Christ. Provide relevant information. 

  • Greet new guests/attendees 
  • Orient new guests/attendees to the church grounds
  • Follow up with new guests/attendees

 

Monthly Bible Study and Fellowship: The Ladies of Harmony meet at 8:00 am, on the last Sunday of each month, in the Fellowship Hall. The meeting starts with prayer and breakfast, and then the ladies are led in Bible study.
